Where the storage actually sits

- Desktop tower. The side panel comes off with two thumbscrews. Inside, a 3.5 inch drive sits in a caddy with a power lead and a data cable, or a small M.2 stick is held to the board by a single screw. Either one is straightforward to take out and keep.

The storage that outlives the computer
The machine leaves and the data stays.
